Whipped Chickpea, Maple & Almond Butter Dip

This fiber and protein rich dip is guaranteed to be a new family favorite! I have one daughter who loves hummus and another daughter who despises it. However, both of my kids LOVE almond butter and I wanted to create something that has more protein than simply a nut butter spread. This lightly sweet, nutty, and silky smooth dip won over both of my kids and I’m so happy to share it with you all!! I love spreading it onto a cinnamon raisin bagel and my kids like dipping apple slices into it. Of course a hearty cracker is also a good vehicle for this spread.

I hope you and your kiddos love this as much as we do! My kids loved helping me make this in our food processor.

Happy healthy snacking everyone!

Whipped Chickpea, Maple & Almond Butter Dip

PREP TIME: 5 minutes    COOK TIME: 0 minutes    SERVES: 4-6 small servings

  • 1 (14 ounce) jar of chickpeas, drained (I like the Jovial brand because they are in a glass jar)

  • 1/3 cup almond butter

  • 2 Tablespoons maple syrup

  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil

  • fat pinch of fine sea salt

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1/4 -1/2 cup water (plus more to thin as needed)

Preparation

  1. Place all the ingredients into a blender, food processor or use an immersion blender and blend until smooth and creamy. Add more water to thin as needed— you want this to be silky smooth but not runny. Taste for seasonings and adjust as needed.

  2. Store in the fridge for up to 5 days.
